      Job summary

      We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious, self-motivated individual to work in our Inventory management team. Based in the Supplies Department Stores, at North Tyneside General Hospital, the post holder will be working in our Distribution Centre as well as providing an Inventory management service for a specific number of Wards and Departments, of which full training will be given.

      The Inventory Officer has overall responsible for the provision of inventory services (exc pharmacy) across Northumbria Healthcare Trust (NHCT). The Inventory Officer will ensure the reordering and replenishing of stock taking, receipt of deliveries, stock level monitoring, maintaining minimum stock levels, stock rotation and the tracking of stock across multiple sites. This post includes a large proportion of data entry ensuring accurate records of stock and regular stock takes to verify quantities on the held in the central store.

      PLEASE NOTE: This is a part time position of 22.5 hours a week working Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday though you may be asked to work the Thursday and Friday to cover annual leave or sickness.

      Main duties of the job

      You should have experience of stock replenishment and / or working in a stores environment. You should have good interpersonal skills, be customer facing with a helpful, friendly and flexible attitude. You should be PC literate with experience of entering data into computerised systems. You should be able to use your own initiative, and be able to work alone and well as part of a team. The ability to work to deadlines and communicate with staff at all levels is essential.
