- Provide analytical support to significant investigations assigned to the Group Security Investigations Team by the Group Designated Officers and Business Integrity and Compliance
- Support the assessment of complex allegations and assist in the formulation of investigation plans ensuring compliance with the Group Investigations Standard, Group Investigations Manual and other BAT policies and procedures.
- Lead and develop the Group Security Investigation Team’s digital investigation processes and data collection, review and analysis (e-Discovery) capability; undertake collection and review activity in support of significant investigations; liaise with relevant internal and external collaborators (including third-party forensics service providers); provide subject-matter expertise and support to end-market and regional investigators.
- Develop interview plans; support investigative interviews.
- Conduct open-source research and analyse information for investigations and supporting investigative due diligence.
- Draft clear and concise analytical products and investigation reports for presentation and delivery to senior decision makers.
- Development and delivery of investigation skills training, with a particular focus on delivering training on all aspects of digital investigations and e-discovery and electronic data recovery.
- Provide global, cross functional support and advice on all aspects of investigations process and establish role as reliable subject-matter expert.
- Experience in the Corporate or Consultancy Sector in a relevant field and/or a relevant background in Police or Military.
- Significant experience in the analytical support of corporate investigations.
- Significant knowledge and experience of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM)
- Significant experience with e-discovery software (e.g. Relativity and Brainspace) as well as data visualisation and analysis tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, IBM i2).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing, analysis and the ability to present to senior audiences and influence critical partners.
- Excellent people skills with confidence and ability to establish productive working relationships with internal and external team members across all levels of the business and to discuss sensitive matters in an appropriate manner.
- Ability to accurately interpret information from diverse sources, and the willingness to question and corroborate information received, identify information gaps and formulate recommendations to inform and support decisions.
- Efficient time management and the ability to prioritise, ensuring that varied and sometimes competing demands are met without compromising on quality.
- The ability and confidence to view problems from different perspectives, able to challenge existing assumptions and propose new approaches.
- Highest integrity: responsible and discreet handling of sensitive information on a need-to-know basis.
- Methodical and disciplined, proficient in information analysis and the production of analytical product in the form of reports and briefings, often to tight deadlines and with minimal supervision.
- Membership of professional security, compliance, or investigation organisations.
- Established networks with investigation practitioners, government, law enforcement and NGO communities.
