- Directs day-to-day work on research projects; Responsible for research design and protocol development under the direction of a Center, Institute or Program Director and pursuing independent funding for research projects; Analyzes research findings and disseminates in journals and presents at scientific meetings; Represents research Center and Institute to health care and scientific communities; Supervises and develops expertise of research support staff.
- Interprets and follows policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines.
- Provides technical assistance in areas of expertise to other investigators or departments.
- Provides oversight and supervision of support staff in scientific and clinical aspects of research projects.
- Serves on research Center and Institute committees.
