Job Description

- Work with other investigators to research and/or uncover possible electronic evidence such as social media platforms and cell phones.
- Work with other investigators to write thorough summaries of interviews and overall investigation; and keep attorneys constantly apprised of investigative findings.
- Work with other investigators to travel to and conduct investigations at scenes, including (without limitation) canvasing, photographing, locating and extracting surveillance videos (with subpoena or consent from records custodian).
- Work with other investigators to retrieve discovery from local law enforcement agencies and labs.
- Work with other investigators to search for and provide mitigating information and witnesses for the possibility of punishment evidence; and meet with Clients and their families either in-office, in jail or other locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
A valid driver's license is required (Must obtain a Texas driver's license before date of hire).
- Some college is preferred.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
Regular Full-time | 40 hours per week
Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department.
- Office, outdoors, jail, and other locations necessary to carry out job duties.
- There is the possibility of exposure to inclement weather or various temperature changes.
Depends on qualifications
Based on 26 pay periods
The Investigator Trainee will work closely with investigators and attorneys to develop skills such as locating and interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence and discovery, and making contact with clients, law enforcement agencies and others. Evening and weekend hours may be required. Work with other investigators to review cases and conduct investigations (locating witnesses, interviewing witnesses, conducting background checks, etc.).
