      There may be multiple positions available, see more details about the current available opportunity . A cross-ministry eligibility list may also be established to fill future permanent vacancies in multiple ministries and locations within British Columbia, some may have remote work/hybrid options.

      Positions will be offered in the rank order of successful candidates, considering preferred skillset, ministry, and location preferences selected by the applicants during the hiring process. An applicant’s preferences will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.

      Job Requirements:
      An equivalent combination of education and/or *related experience may be considered.

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management and/or Information Technology, including Design (e.g., Service, User Experience (UX), Human-Computer Interaction) and three (3) years of related experience; OR
      • Diploma in Information Management and/or Information Technology, including Design (e.g., Service, UX, Human-Computer Interaction) and five (5) years of related experience; OR
      • Certificate or course work in Information Management and/or Information Technology, including Design (e.g., Service, UX, Human-Computer Interaction) and six (6) years related experience;

      Related experience must include the minimum number of years as listed above in each of the following:

      • Experience in using human-centered design methods to design and deliver services including Service Design or User Research or UX Design.
      • Experience in using and adjusting facilitation, visualization, and storytelling skills to provide the right context to diverse groups and audiences.
      • Experience in planning and executing research activities to inform and evaluate the design of products and services.
      • Experience in designing or redesigning a large and complex service that meet the needs of users, alleviate pain points, and reduce operational costs.
      • Experience in analyzing and synthesizing multiple sources of data, including observational interviews, qualitative and quantitative data, and direct user feedback for improving products and services.
      • Experience in using design, research, and collaboration tools (i.e., Figma/Sketch/AdobeXD, survey software and Mural).

      Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

      • Experience working within cross-functional and Agile product teams, collaborating with designers, researchers, developers, product managers, and other subject matter experts to create or improve digital products and services.
      • Experience working with and building/maintaining respectful relationships with Indigenous communities.
