The iSeries Administrator is responsible for administration, evaluation, installation and security for all areas of the iSeries. They will act as a liaison between the iSeries and the business organization and will interact and negotiate with vendors where necessary. Provide management with technology solutions related to the iSeries and related software. Ensure iSeries up time and provides support where necessary.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for all PTF installs, operating system updates, backups, and general iSeries maintenance.

• Recommend, install, implement, and use 3rd party software where needed to improve iSeries performance.

• Maintain and administer JDE World security along with DB2 security in accordance with the newest security methods.

• Analyze the iSeries by monitoring system performance, log files, memory usage to determine upgrade needs.

• Develop disaster recovery plans, tune the system, provide technical training and assistance where needed.

• Document all system changes and develop consistent procedures.

• Responsible for maintaining a production/test/development environment for our JDE World ERP application.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

• 5 + years experience as an iSeries Administrator required. Programming skills in RPG and CL are preferred along with JD Edwards World experience.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Demonstrated knowledge in iSeries configuration and related applications.

• Knowledge in TCP/IP and iSeries network configuration is a must along with knowledge of BRMS and NetIQ or a related exit point software.

• Ability to define a problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Successful candidate will have proven ability to interpret extensive technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables simultaneously.

• SSO experience in an iSeries environment is a plus.

• Candidate should have proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
