Job Description

- Attend and translate meetings to help facilitate effective conversations between Japanese speaking and English-speaking employees, take meeting notes, and recap meetings as needed.
- Supports Japanese staff in highly confidential matters.
- Write department level communication on behalf of Plant Management in both English and Japanese.
- Manages calendar for both internal and external meetings. (Time prioritization)
- Able to prepare written communications and presentations in both, Japanese and English, to internal and external customers, vendors, auditors, and colleagues.
- Participate in company initiatives and contribute to process improvements.
- Enter data quickly and efficiently when converting from one language to another.
- Prepare special reports as needed.
- Maintain files and records.
- Ability to work with different members of the Management staff.

- Minimum of N2 in the JLPT proficiency Test.
- Manufacturing experience is a PLUS.
- Computer knowledge (MS Excel and MS Word proficiency)
- Above average communication skills (verbal & written)
- Detail-oriented and exact word for word language translation
- Knowledge of MRP, Kanban. ISO 9001, SAP and Infor experience is a PLUS.
- Bilingual in Japanese is a MUST. N2 or better. (verbal & written)
- Ability to work harmoniously with others.
- Ability to accept and follow instructions.
- Ability to work unsupervised at times.
- Ability to work with different personality types.

- Traveling between the manufacturing floor and offices by foot.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide confidential and administrative support for the Japanese employees within the Engineering Department to help ensure full understanding. The Japanese Translator will also maintain strict confidentiality in the performance of all related activities.
