We’re looking for a Sr. Software Engineer who will be working in a greenfield environment for new UI, API layer, and integration into various legacy systems and Salesforce. The development stack for the current phase is JavaScript focused soup-to-nuts, Vue.js, Node.js, GraphQL, and more.

Software Design – 20%

• Collaborate with Lead Developers, Engineering Managers, Infrastructure and Data Engineers to design new software solutions.
• Analyze our application architecture and research best practices to ensure sustainable software design.
• Utilize your understanding of functional and non-functional requirements to refine work that needs to be developed.
• Assist Business Analysts in breaking down and refining storytellers into small deliverable components.
• Assist product management and Lead Developers with story carding, planning, and reviews.

Develop – 60%

• Work within our Agile process to build software with Java and SQL Server.
• Deeply understand our application's functional and non-functional requirements to fix defects and build required features.
• Construct code to technical specifications including unit and integration testing.
• Support QA, Infrastructure, and Data teams to deliver release builds.
• Participate in, reinforce, and refine our agile development practices.

Support – 20%

• Participate in on-call support rotation or assignments to support escalations and resolve client requests.
• Participate in the deployment of our products and provide support if issues arise.
• Mentor developers and provide support & guidance for entire TEAM.
• Participate in our engineer recruiting and hiring process.

MUST HAVE

• 5+ years of extensive experience developing critical business applications in Java and SQL Server
• Proficient in Java development and solutions that use a mix long-tenured applications originally developed prior to Java 17 and modern SpringBoot service oriented solutions.
• Advanced SQL & relational database experience including: T-SQL and stored procedures on MS SQL Server
• Experience developing REST APIs for both public and private consumption
• Experience with Maven or Gradle
• Experience with JavaScript, XML, HTML, JSON
• Experienced with Git and can define and manage branching strategies
• Experienced with code reviews and able to provide feedback and guidance to colleagues
• Proficient with jUnit and capable of planning testing strategies and implementation of tests
• Experience developing and utilizing RESTful services and 3rd party APIs
• Able to quickly identify areas of improvement within the code base, and communicate issues effectively
• Able to work independently an understand when escalation is required

• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like Vue.js or React
