What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

- Prepare construction documents, including plan and profile drawings for various utility and communication facilities
- Assist in the preparation of engineering/project cost estimates and execution schedules
- Provide field support during construction and conduct quality reviews of work prepared by others
- Apply industry standards and guidelines to complete engineering designs for joint-use or make-ready construction
- Utilize software packages and equipment to complete daily responsibilities and facilitate new attachment permitting process

What is Required (Qualifications):

- High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of experience in fieldwork, drafting, utility experience, or technical design
- Knowledge of utility distribution design and construction standards and ability to use design software packages
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work on multiple projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and design software
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Dependable transportation and a valid driver’s license with insurance

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, drafting, or related technical discipline with 0-2 years of experience
- Prior utility design or make-ready design experience
- Working knowledge of electrical distribution assets and/or communication equipment construction
- Experience in pole loading or other construction modeling software
- Familiarity with industry utility or joint-use software for make-ready engineering and construction
