Job Description

- Dismantle, refurbish, and rebuild a variety of circuit breakers and switchgear.
- Install above-ground piping and run conduit.
- Perform maintenance on circuit breaker boxes.
- Travel to customer locations in the Western US for service calls.
- Perform electrical installations including conduit, cable, low and medium voltage switchgear, and electrical apparatus.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical and electronic systems, both indoors and outdoors.
- Work with low voltage and medium voltage systems ranging from 120v up to 46kv.
- Use electrical test meters such as multimeters, meggers, ammeters, hipot testers, ductors, Doble equipment, etc.
- Read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
- Apply thorough knowledge of electrical theory and experience in AC and DC power circuits.
- Conduct general maintenance of low & medium voltage circuit breakers.
- Perform regular PMs and respond to emergency projects.
- Install basic control wiring using schematics and wiring diagrams with minimal assistance.
- Provide and maintain personal tools.
- At least 5 years of electrical experience.
- Journeyman experience.
- Knowledge and experience working with motors, switchgear, transformers, controls, variable frequency drives, protective relays, and other electrical equipment.
- Proficiency in the use of electrical test meters.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical theory, AC and DC power circuits.
- General knowledge of low & medium voltage circuit breakers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good customer relations skills and ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure in a challenging fast-paced environment.
- Ability to take direction and act independently, while also being able to work well with a team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.
- Self-starter with the ability to make quick decisions.
- Willingness to follow standard safety practices to promote safe and efficient workmanship.
- History of reliability and dependability.
- Experience related to utility companies and heavy industry is a plus.
- Electrical education or certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Physical ability to perform required duties, including bending, lifting, carrying, squatting, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and standing for prolonged periods.
- Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment and work around industrial equipment.
- Willingness to travel and work in several different geographic locations (indoors & outdoors).
- Driving to job sites is a regular function of the role.

Work Environment
You will need to be flexible in commuting to different job sites around Tucson and willing to travel as needed, including NM, CO, El Paso, and Wyoming. Trucks will be provided for job site travel, and accommodations and gas will be covered when traveling (receipts for expenses are required). The shift typically starts at 7am but may vary depending on the job site. Overtime is available. Personal hand tools are required.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
