Job Title: HVAC Journeyman

Job Description

The HVAC Journeyman will perform maintenance, installation, and repair work on HVAC systems, equipment, and components. This role also involves installations, repairs, and fabrication of sheet metal/metal components related to HVAC and other trades. Work is performed under general supervision using the tools and techniques of HVAC technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, installation, and repair work on HVAC systems, equipment, and components.
• Conduct installations, repairs, and fabrication of sheet metal/metal components related to HVAC and other trades.
• Apply HVAC theory, techniques, codes, and procedures.
• Use tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Solve problems and manage information efficiently.
• Communicate proficiently in written and verbal English to interact with staff.
• Identify and avoid hazards as indicated by warning labels, signage, and other warning devices.
• Complete work within reasonable lengths of time as measured against trade, industry, or engineered standards.

Essential Skills

• Knowledge of HVAC theory, techniques, codes, and procedures.
• Proficient in sheet metal installation, repairs, and fabrication.
• Ability to safely use tools and equipment, including precision measuring instruments and both powered and non-powered hand tools.
• Problem-solving and information management skills.
• Proficient written and verbal English communication skills at least on a high school graduate level.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Journeyman certification.
• Experience in commercial buildings.

Work Environment

The work environment is based in a hospital shop, utilizing all types of tools and equipment normally used in the HVAC and sheet metal trade, including specialized equipment such as precision measuring instruments, powered portable, bench, and hand tools, as well as non-powered hand tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.64 - $37.32/hr.
