The
Junior Credit Analyst will provide credit function support to the Lending team. This opportunity will include training and mentoring by experienced analysts and enhance their ability to learn methods properly evaluate the financial strength and risks associated with clients in various industries

WHAT YOU WILL DO: - Review and analyze all types of financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports for business loan applicants.
- Input personal and business financial data accurately into spreading software.
- Learn and apply the Credit Union's Credit Policy and procedures.
- Prepare Analysis of the business applicant's cash flow, prepare a global cash flow of the borrower and all guarantors, prepare collateral analysis and apply advance rates to determine collateral coverage of the loan amount, prepare financial reporting requirements, recommend financial covenants, terms and conditions to help mitigate the Credit Union's risk exposure.
- Identify and assess financial trends and risk factors associated with loan applications.
- Collaborate with Senior Credit Analysts, Loan Officers, and Senior Credit Officer to prepare comprehensive credit write-ups.
- Assist in the preparation of loan packages for submission to the Member Business Loan Committee, when applicable.
- Assist in monitoring the performance of existing loans in the portfolio by conducting Annual Term Loan Reviews, updating Risk Ratings and/or analyzing the Borrower's interim financial statements.
- Assists with ticklers and exceptions tracking for member business loans.
- Stay updated on industry trends, Credit Union regulations and best practices in commercial lending.
- Help establish and maintain a well-organized electronic loan file by following established naming and organizational parameters.
- Provides excellent customer service to internal/external business partners or members.
- Consistently demonstrates commitment to SCU values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or minimum 2 years' experience as a business lender or related field.
- 2 years' experience in financial and/or credit underwriting and analysis.
- Understanding of financial data metrics, balance sheets, income statement, cash flow statements, and ratio analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Expertise in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and financial analysis tools.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications: - Relevant internship or work experience in banking or finance.
- Prior experience with commercial loan underwriting.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance related to commercial lending.

Working Conditions: - This is a hybrid role with work performed remotely as well as in an office and/or branch environment in the Greater Seattle area of Washington State.
- Team members may attend special off-hour meetings and seminars.
- The nature of work may include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

28.08 - 40.67 USD per hour (Remote)
