      Job Description

      The Junior Instructional Designer supports the creation and distribution of learning material to our global business partners including Canadian English and French-speaking learners and US-based learners as a member of the L&D GWAM team.

      Using your strong graphic design skills and proficiency in development tools/technology, assist the Senior Instructional Designer in creating e-learning and related assets (graphics, diagrams, documents, and presentations), support LMS content and user management, and manage the translation of learning content. You are eager to build and broaden your knowledge of our team and learner expectations.

      Major Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Support the Instructional Designer’s vision for content creation, including:

        • RISE Courses

        • Assets and interactions created using Storyline.

        • Video, audio, graphics/infographics

        • Supporting documents

        • LMS-direct built content

      • Apply templated designs, utilize our team library of previously created courses, and apply design guidance as provided by the lead ID to execute on the above.

      • Apply best practices in adult learning, instructional soundness, and design in every assignment.

      • Practice effective time management and prioritization to meet deadlines.

      • Maintain organized development files that are easily accessible and shared with peers.

      • Manage the translation process, execute distribution, and ensure effective tracking of dual language content.

      • LMS tasks including content creation, configuration, assignment, reporting/tracking, tagging, and troubleshooting.

      • Remain current on industry innovations and standards including accessibility and DEI.

      What we are looking for

      • Strong graphic design skills with an aptitude for applying design best practices

      • High proficiency in the Articulate 360 Suite including RISE and Storyline

      • High proficiency in PowerPoint and Word design features and formatting functions

      • Transferrable skills and the ability to quickly become proficient in new tools/technologies

      • Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. spelling/writing standards

      Functional knowledge with the ability to become proficient in:

      • Learning Management Systems: content creation, configuration, distribution, and maintenance

      • Other development tools as indicated above (document, graphics, video generation, audio editing, etc.)

      • Instructional Development skills such as: how to structure, format, and communicate learning content clearly, concisely, and professionally

      Bilingual proficiency in Canadian French will be an advantage.

      Education & Experience

      • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certification in graphic design

      • Solid foundation in learning design and development

      • Working knowledge of Adult Learning theory and its application in a corporate environment

      • Proficiency with multiple applications and tools relevant to e-learning content creation, including, but not limited to, the following: Articulate 360, Video, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office tools.

      Salary & Benefits

      The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

      Primary Location

      Toronto, Ontario

      Salary range is expected to be between

      $60,000.00 CAD - $100,000.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
