Conducting commercial assessments across illiquid and liquid asset investment opportunities through regular interaction with asset managers, Credit Risk and ALM teams.
Drafting management information reports on asset investment performance and market commentary for the Annuity Senior Leadership team, Group Chief Investment Officer and Life Company Chief Financial Officer.
Analysis of portfolio construction and performance forecasting for annuity pricing.
Working on the design, development and usage of quantitatively oriented investment-related models, techniques, and tools.
Supporting our Sustainable Investments team in developing analysis and strategy to achieve Aviva’s £6bn green investment target by 2025.
Confidence with numerical and quantitative analysis; with preference for a quantitative or financial degree.
Keen interest in fixed income investments; understanding of liability driven investing beneficial.
Ability to intuitively understand and concisely summarise multi-dimensional decision-making considerations and draft compelling investment rationale and recommendations.
Understanding of market risk management fundamentals, including use of vanilla derivatives to hedge interest rate and cross-currency exposures.
Advanced Excel skills, basic coding ability beneficial.
Salary Circa £37,500 – £40,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
Bonus opportunity 8% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.

Junior Investment Analyst - Salary Circa £37,500 – £40,000
This role is an exciting opportunity to join the Annuity Asset Origination (AAO) team, which supports Aviva’s market leading Annuity and Equity Release business.
The team’s purpose is to enable the investment in assets to back annuity liabilities, which consistently achieves annual volumes of c.£7bn, by working with asset managers to source and negotiate asset investments, drafting analysis and recommendations for investment committees, and expand our ability to invest in new asset classes.
The role provides a unique opportunity to develop investment expertise and market knowledge across a wide range of fixed income asset classes, including infrastructure, real estate debt, structured finance, and private placements in the private markets, as well as corporate, sovereign and supranational, and emerging market debt in the public markets.
