Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks. Assists with planning, evaluation, and coordination and will perform installations and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication networks
Perform daily tasks supporting multiple individual networks
Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors, etc.
May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings
Prepare or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions
Assist with regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems
Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for network equipment
Assist with design or a portion of network that includes selection of hardware and software packages
Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree, or an additional 1 year of Network Administration/Engineering/STEM work experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college (i.e. AS + 2 years or No degree + 4 Years’ experience)
Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
Experience with current cabling and fiber standards
Experience with firewall and access control list knowledge
Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities
A currently active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Ability to work with general supervision and follow established procedures
Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.
Certifications in Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.
Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications
Experience with telecommunication systems
Ability to work under time constraints
Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes
Current DoD Top Secret level security clearance

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
