Description:

Position Summary: Perform all produce processing, sanitation, safety, and stocking procedures on all fresh produce products (fruits, wet vegetables, and dry vegetables) as outlined by company and directed by Produce Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guest.

Perform produce duties such as stocking, wrapping, clean-up as assigned by management in accordance with company guidelines.

Trim, wash, bundle produce.

Follow daily work schedule as assigned by management.

Follow dress code in accordance with team member handbook and all required health codes.

Follow attendance tardiness guidelines in accordance with team member handbook.

Perform produce duties in accordance with company guidelines to ensure proper handling for guest safety, convenience and value.

Prevent shrink, damage and spoilage of product to ensure freshness and quality.

Assist with building produce displays and ensure proper pricing and signage of products.

Other duties as needed.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift heavy items, ranging from 5 to 60 lbs, and operate equipment, such as fork lifts, pricing gun, transport dollies, etc
• Require long period of standing
• Excellent customer service, communication, and math skills.
• Ability to speak, read and fluent in English to ensure fluent communication with customers, coworkers, and supervisors who only speak English.

Work Environment:

• Store Climate can range, averaging 70-78 degrees, freezer and walk-ins low as 20 degrees.
• Moderate level noise
• Twisting, slippery floor surfaces, cluttered floor surfaces, toxic exposure, nuisance dust, fumes, sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions, operation of department equipment

Travel:

• No travel needed

Physical Requirements:

• Standing, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, ability to carry/lift 50 lbs, push/pull 200 lbs, Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to stand and move for up to 8 hours per day
• Repetitive Action - Pricing with marking gun, opening cases using safety cutter, stocking product on shelves and displays, return all overstock to stockroom.

LIFTING: Average Weight: 5 lbs up to 50 lbs. Frequency: Daily
