      This position is a current need for our students and Educators MUST reside in AZ.

      The teacher will use online learning to personalize the education of their students by communicating with them on a consistent basis as outlined in the current teacher expectations. Teachers will facilitate student learning through the online classroom model and in the online curriculum platform ensuring students achieve academic success. The teacher will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school goals and programs.

      Primary duties and responsibilities:

      • Takes ownership for student’s academic progress and attendance, communicating high expectations and showing active interest in student’s achievement;
      • Prepares students for high-stakes standardized tests;
      • Makes self open and available to be coached on a regular basis with administrators;
      • Under guidance from principal, augments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate learning models as needed;
      • Submits grades and required student work ensuring student academic honesty and integrity;
      • Makes placement and promotion decisions by generating formal and informal reports regarding student progress, alerting administrators to concerns about student performance and progress;
      • Understands learning model and is able to effectively work with groups of students in various modes (i.e. digital courses, targeted instruction, online classroom (webcam based) instruction);
      • Grade student work within 24-48 hours of being submitted;
      • Understands State Board of Education grade level standards and utilizes the standards to guide student learning;
      • Creates and maintains an opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment;
      • Creates and maintains a positive, orderly, and academically focused instructional environment;
      • Provides classroom management and discipline that ensures safety at all times;
      • Provides communication and support to students and parents on a daily basis via through a variety of tools: phone, messaging, text messaging, and emails;
      • Evaluates student progress and provide individualized instruction and feedback;
      • Ensures compliance with special services such as IEP’s and other related mandates;
      • Post a daily announcement in each course that motivates the students to participate in the daily lessons;
      • Manages the discussion boards in each class to encourage participation and learning in the online classroom;
      • Meets expectations as outlined in teacher training and the Teacher Expectations and Guidelines;
      • Participates in professional development and department meetings, as scheduled;
      • Assists with administering standardized assessments;
      • Establishes rapport with students and legal guardians and encourage students to maintain attendance and academic expectations;
      • Directs students to necessary resources including: teachers, tutors, admission’s staff, guidance support, etc;
      • Monitors and oversees student access to the Parent Student Portal and any other appropriate websites;
      • Properly documents issues, concerns, and important information concerning students/legal guardians as they present themselves;
      • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives, in order to meet the needs of all students;
      • Additional duties as needed.

      • Designs engaging lessons that incorporate technology;
      • Crafts, delivers and models engaging student-centered learning experiences;
      • Maintains a professional code of conduct, including but not limited to professional language, actions, and attire;
      • Maintains professional confidentiality of personal and private matters pertaining to students, parents, and co-workers
      • Demonstrates willingness and desire to work and collaborate with students, legal guardians, co-workers, and the general public;
      • Communicates effectively, both verbal and written;
      • Maintains positive and pro-active customer service in all aspects of communication, both internally and externally;
      • Prioritizes work and handles multiple tasks while working independently;
      • Displays excellent planning and organizational skills;
      • Works under pressure, pays attention to detail, meets deadlines, and deals with difficult situations while maintaining composure, professionalism, and a positive attitude;
      • Takes initiative to look at data analytically, showing excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills as it relates to continuous improvement for professional and personal growth;
      • Demonstrates awareness and willingness to understand personal role and how it contributes to the success of other departments or functional areas;
      • Embraces a culturally diverse environment;
      • Knows and is proficient in Microsoft Office programs;
      • Adapts to change while conveying professionalism;

      Education/Training/Employment Requirements:

      • “Highly Effective” in content area
      • Bachelor’s Degree;
      • Must possess or be able to acquire an Arizona teaching license issued by the Arizona Department of Education and be certified in the relevant subject area;
      • Teaching experience at the kindergarten education level
      • Must have a baseline IVP Level 1 DPS background check at the time of employment;
