      Job Summary:

      Join our dynamic Library Services team as a Knowledge Specialist (Librarian), where you’ll play a crucial role in supporting evidence-based clinical decision-making and research. In this hybrid position, you’ll manage serials and e-resource access, cataloging, and interlibrary loan lending. Additionally, you’ll support Allina Health’s research and information needs by conducting literature searches and providing library resource training. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing our clinical policies and research initiatives.

      Key Position Details:

      • Hybrid position – typically 1-2 days a week at Abbott Northwestern Hospital
      • 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week period)
      • 8-hour day shift
      • No weekends
      • Benefit-eligible position

      Job Description:

      Responsible for library services including literature searches and customer assistance. Evaluate quality, authenticity and accuracy of knowledge-based resources to support clinical decision making and knowledge transfer.

      Principle Responsibilities

      • Provide tailored reference services on medical and relevant non-medical topics.
        • Assist customers with medical research and information retrieval.
        • Teach users of library tools how to retrieve requested information.
      • Use technology and systems to manage information, participate in the development of the library website and content.
      • Other duties as assigned.


      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in related field
      • 2 to 5 years of experience in reference services and data base searching, including web based data bases


      Preferred Qualifications

      • Master's degree in Library Science

      Pay Range

      Pay Range: $32.20 to $44.13 per hour

      The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
