      Kotahitanga mō te Taiao is an Alliance between Councils, DOC and Iwi across Te Tauihu and northern Kawatiri/Buller.

      The vision of the Alliance is:
      Our extraordinary natural heritage is flourishing, having been restored over large areas, including where people live. People live, care for, and benefit from the environment in ways that bolster natural ecology and the communities that live within them.

      In 2019, the Kotahitanga mō te Taiao Alliance partnered with The Nature Conservancy in Aotearoa New Zealand to help achieve its vision. You will work closely with a small and dedicated team to help deliver on the ambitions of the KMTT Alliance Strategy and Operational Plan, supporting the integration of this work with the broader TNC framework of action.

      WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

      The KMTT Communications Manager manages and implements focused communication and/or media tactics that facilitates comprehension, adoption and advancement of the organization's goals and objectives. They help facilitate on-going communication between all parts of the globally dispersed marketing division internal and external stakeholders and identifies communication and media needs and opportunities within purview. They help develop speeches, key messages and talking points, as needed. They research, write and distribute a wide variety of communication materials including but not limited to: op-eds, news releases, fact sheets, web articles, and blog posts, as directed in program marketing plans. The KMTT Communications Manager employs a variety of communication tactics to communicate goals, objectives, and mission. They actively identify target audiences and cultivates media contacts on a local and national level. They may develop and foster relationships with internal and external partners.

      This is a part-time, fixed term position until June 2026, reporting to the KMTT Program Manager.

      WHAT YOU'LL BRING
      • Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
      • Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.
      • Experience writing, editing, and proofreading.
