Seeking a qualified candidate to fill a part-time Laboratory Analyst position in the Chemical and Environmental Laboratory at the Longview, TX plant site.
• This is a limited service, temporary, position. The individual who fills this role will not be eligible for benefits
• Work schedules may vary from a 40-hour work week at times, or may be intermittent or reduced schedule based on business needs
• This position may have potential opportunities to move into regular full-time positions as a Laboratory Analyst or Technician for qualified candidates
• Analysts work under the direction of a Team Manager
• The analyst is responsible for performing testing on routine and non-routine samples using chemical analysis techniques including:

• Gas chromatography
• Titrations and other wet chemical analyses
• Ultraviolet and infrared spectroscopy
• Viscosity measurements, Softening Point and other polymer analyses
• Total halogen, sulfur and nitrogen testing
• Flashpoint testing

• Analysts are also responsible for monitoring the quality of test results using statistical process control techniques, investigating failing results, calibrating and maintaining test equipment
• Work is conducted in an environment regulated by ISO and cGMP standards

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• An Associate's degree in Chemistry, a Bachelor's in Physical Science, or at least two years of directly related experience is preferred. Candidates pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in Physical Science are also encouraged to apply.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is essential.
