      The principal roles of the Laboratory Operations Manager are to coordinate the smooth running of the Cyprotex Framingham, MA laboratories via allocation of resources within the team, including people and equipment, and to support and train individuals within their team.

      Responsibilities:

      · Adapting scientific knowledge to resolve problems encountered in achieving defined goals with support from line manager or other team members where required to meet internal and project deadlines.

      · Establish, execute, review and evaluate laboratory procedures and policies for operating functions of the laboratory.

      · Demonstrating full command of all techniques and tools required for assigned responsibilities within the given project.

      · Ensuring the conduction of safe working practices.

      · Take responsibility to maintain laboratory records, reports and files.

      · Manage laboratory purchase of inventory, storage and supplies usage.

      · Manage and resolve administrative and technical problems.

      · Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures.

      · To provide support to scientists where necessary with regard to equipment or technical requirements for projects being carried out.

      · Other duties as assigned that may be required to ensure a smooth running of the Cyprotex laboratories.

      · Supervise and manage all laboratory housekeeping activities, including:

      o Shipping and Receiving

      o Preparing shipping documentation and packing samples for dispatch

      o Organization and management of freezer stock levels

      o Preparation of reagents

      o Glassware washing and autoclaving

      o Laboratory waste disposal

      o Regular stock taking for reordering of critical reagents

      o Use and maintenance of databases

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      · Self-motivated, enthusiastic, cooperative and reliable

      · The ability to adapt to changing demands whilst operating under pressure to deadlines

      · The ability to work accurately and with attention to detail

      · Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with other scientific staff

      · Able to work well independently, and as part of a team

      · Strong organizational and time management skills

      · Good verbal communication skills

      · Ability to repeatedly lift and bend with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs over head when needed

      · Ability to maintain excellent laboratory records

      · Computer proficiency

      Education and Experience:

      Bachelor of Science or equivalent in related subject(s) with three or more years’ experience in a relevant role.
