- Works with high-throughput automation and robotics in order to execute test protocols and follow workflow practices as outlined in the standard operating procedures of the lab.
- Properly manages reagents used in the Lab.
- Prepares production level materials, including volumetric solutions, and pipetting.
- Follows quality control and safety procedures.
- Maintains clean room protocols to maintain sample integrity.
- Uses technology to enter, record, and store information in written and electronic form.
- Performs routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and aids in determining when maintenance is needed.
- Adheres to safety guidelines for self and others with compliance with standards and regulations required by our Quality Assurance Department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High-school diploma, or equivalent.
- Associate's degree in Biotechnology or MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician) or a BA degree in a science related field (Biology /Chemistry) preferred.
- Experience with the sample prep process in sequencing, and experience with Next Generation Sequencers is highly recommended, but not required.
- 2+ years of experience as a Laboratory Technician or lab related experience. Skilled in general laboratory practices such as manual pipetting.
- 3 years of formal lab related training/education or lab experience.
- 5+ years of formal lab experience in lieu of educational requirements (with the exception of a high school diploma or equivalent).
- Transnetyx Tier 3 certification required upon completion of training.
- Technical – basic computer skills; including the ability to send and receive emails, etc.
- Equipment - understanding of laboratory equipment and related technology.
- Reading Comprehension – understanding work related documents.
- Active Listening – giving full attention and asking questions for clarification as appropriate.
- Communication– conveys information effectively, relaying information to supervisor and coworkers by telephone, text, written form, email or in person.
- Time Management – multitasking, organizing, planning and prioritizing work to complete tasks.
- Organizing tasks and projects without close supervision.
- Teaching – orienting and/or training new staff as assigned.
- Ability to follow instruction/procedures with accuracy and precision.

Transnetyx is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician with formal laboratory experience. This is an evening shift role. You are responsible for executing day-to-day protocols according to Standard Operating Procedures in order to process samples accurately and timely in a highly automated laboratory environment. Additionally, the Technician is responsible for complying with quality systems and safety procedures, as required.

This position is located in Cordova, TN, and is not a remote role. Evening Shift (3:00-11:00 p.m.) offers a 3% premium on top of the hourly rate.

Physical demands include walking, standing up to 8 hours, bending, lifting, stooping, hearing, climbing steps/ladders, reaching, grasping, kneeling. Ability to stay focused for an extended amount of time.
