      Job Description:

      Responsibilities will include inventory management, equipment maintenance, project and daily laboratory activities.

      Qualifications:

      • Successfully completed an accredited Laboratory or Medical Assistant course or equivalent.
      • Recent Hematology and Transfusion Medicine experience required
      • OSMT (Ontario Society of Medical Technology) or CSMLS (Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science) certification preferred
      • Current enrollment in a recognized program for Medical Laboratory technology may also be considered.
      • Effective analytical and problem solving and critical thinking skills
      • Demonstrated high level of initiative.
      • Strong organizational skills.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Knowledge of Microsoft, Excel and working with HIS/LIS
      • Experience with and demonstrates understanding of quality assurance and good laboratory practice
      • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
      • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
      • Reliable and accountable.
      • Applicants must be available for all shift work ie. Nights, evenings and weekends
      • Satisfactory attendance and performance required
