      Job Description

      SGS is looking for an experienced Laboratory Technician to help maintain our analytical capabilities across soil, water, and air testing. The primary responsibilities include performing routine analyses and delivering accurate, timely results. This is a permanent, full-time role located at Perth Airport, WA.

      Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Undertake routine preparations and analysis of soil and water samples.
      • Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean to avoid contamination.
      • Carry out scheduled instrument calibration and maintenance in accordance with written procedures.
      • Assist in receiving, unpacking and registering samples received.
      • Assist in the disposal of samples as required.
      • Understand and adapt general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.
      • Ensure that safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) is used correctly and when necessary.
      • Perform other duties as directed by your Supervisor.
      • Maintain and update skills, qualifications and knowledge through internal, external and on-the-job training/courses to support continuous development and improvement.

      Qualifications

      • TAFE or tertiary qualification in science or Chemistry.
      • Have working experience preferably in an environmental laboratory.
      • Be flexible with working hours and tasks (mainly Monday to Friday, 1pm to 9pm shift).
