Job Title: Press Operator

Job Description

Operators will lead in all aspects of operation of Press lines including changeovers, machine start-up, running, and shut-down. Support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety. Run all jobs in accordance with customer specifications, manufacturing specifications, print specifications, color folders, and standard operating procedures. Ensure all appropriate paperwork is filled out accurately and completely.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage Press lines including changeovers, machine start-up, running, and shut-down.
• Support safety initiatives and strive to achieve World Class standards in all operations.
• Run jobs according to customer, manufacturing, and print specifications as well as standard operating procedures.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork such as production reports, job verification sheets, ink usage sheets, QA reports, roll tickets, S.O.C sheets, and others as assigned.
• Collaborate with the press assistant and pit crew to minimize job change-over and down time.
• Train and direct the press assistant to efficiently perform required duties as per the assistant training matrix.
• Understand and uphold product safety protocols.
• Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives including cross-training and adapting to work requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Essential Skills

• General production experience
• Packaging knowledge
• Machine operating skills
• Experience with lamination
• Manufacturing experience of 1+ year
• Should be comfortable working 12-hour shifts

Data entry skills

• Capability to function independently
• Should be comfortable moving up to 50 lbs

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Training on machinery will be provided
• Experience in a clean and temperature-controlled manufacturing environment is a plus

Work Environment

Work in a very clean and temperature-controlled facility. The facility contains large printing presses and requires working both independently and as part of a team. The work schedule includes 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM, Monday through Thursday, with the potential for a 4-day work week. The environment includes an adhesive smell throughout the facility.

This is a Permanent position based out of SHELBYVILLE, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56000.00 - $60000.00/yr.

Direct placement- benefits day 1
-Review every 60 days for chance at hourly increase
-Stipends and days off per company
