Language Services Coordinator Position Summary

The Language Services Coordinator will provide direction and coordination of the operations, budget and staff of the Language Services Department, including responding to daily needs/requests from internal and external customers and staff, providing supervision and coaching of staff and independent contract interpreters, and processing interpreter payments. The Language Services Coordinator ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and develops best-practice and service benchmarks in the area of linguistically appropriate services across TidalHealth. When needed to ensure appropriate level of service for patients & families, the Language Services Coordinator will provide interpretation for TidalHealth. The Language Services Coordinator will provide interpretation services to ensure appropriate level of service for patients and families.

Language Services Coordinator Position Requirements

• Bachelors degree in business, health care or related field required.
• At least two (2) years of experience in in health care interpreting in Spanish or Haitian-Creole
• Certified Medical Interpreters or CMI within 1 Year required
• Knowledge of health care delivery
• Knowledge of and ability to use various computer programs and applications such word processing, database, presentation software
• Must pass language proficiency test within 90 days of hire

Language Services Coordinator Benefits

• At TidalHealth , team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12 -hour shift schedules and part-time team members wor king at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
