Rotation: 2 weeks contract
Shift: 10 hours per day – (may change upon the occupation of the site)
Hourly wage: $18.00 per hour - based on a 10-hour shift (may change upon the occupation)
Shuttle bus: Free shuttle bus from Prince Georges, MacKenzie, Smithers, Fort St-James

Job Description

• Position Summary:
• You are a dynamic and reliable person with good communication and interpersonal skills. You are committed to quality assurance and safety.
• During your mandate with Sodexo, you will be responsible for sorting laundry items by label and loading the washing machines with bedding, surgical gowns, garments etc.
• You will be responsible for adding detergent and other cleaning products to the washer and adding germicidal/disinfectant solutions as necessary.
• You will need to adjust the water temperature and turn on the washer, take out the clean and wet items and place them in dryers for the measured time cycle.
• You will be asked to sort and fold clean items into the appropriate storage bin, count items to check inventory, use the weighing system, soak contaminated items, mix and apply dyes and bleaches according to formulas. May mend torn items, transport soiled or clean laundry, label resident clothing, and assist in training, assigning, and checking the work of lower-level employees.
• You will be attending training programs (classroom and virtual) as needed, comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures, perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned as required
• A high school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is required. No work experience is required.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• One year of experience preferred
• Ability to use tools and equipment and to perform the physical aspects of the job
• Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, willing to go beyond the basics
• Ability to work under supervision and follow standard procedures, and compliance with all health and safety standards

Physical Demands:
Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work, such as agility, dexterity and long period of walking, standing, bending carrying or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more
