What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and research laws, court decisions, briefs, and other legal authorities
- Confer with the judge regarding legal issues, prepare legal memoranda, and assist with drafting orders
- Attend court sessions to observe proceedings and record case information
- Perform courtroom duties during arraignments, motions, hearings, and trials
- Execute administrative tasks within the judge's chambers

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduation from an accredited law school at the time of employment
- For Law Clerk 1 (student) position: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and current enrollment in law school with at least one year of training
- Knowledge of laws, court rules, and sources of legal reference
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a diverse group of individuals
- Skill in operating a personal computer with word processing and legal research software
