      About Swish Robotics

Swish Robotics is building the future of embodied intelligence for the home. Our flagship product, Bento, is an AI-powered countertop cooking robot that prepares fresh meals in under 20 minutes. Backed by top investors, such as Accel Partners, we're redefining what's possible in consumer robotics —a nd we're looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to help us get there.

This is a high-ownership role on a small, fast-moving team. You'll help bring to the a masses a product that blends robotics, thermo, motion, and design into a compact, beautiful device people will use every day.

      The Role

As Lead Mechanical Engineer, you'll own the mechanical system design for Bento — from prototype to mass production. You'll work across early-stage prototyping, performance iteration, troubleshooting and FMEA, and DFM/DFA for manufacturing. You'll be our go-to person for bringing dynamic, complex consumer hardware to life, and you'll play a key role in both technical development and external manufacturing conversations.

      What You'll Do:

      • Mechanical Design Ownership – Lead the development of Bento's mechanical systems, including moving parts, heating elements, sensors, and enclosures.
      • CAD & Assembly – Use tools like Fusion 360 or SolidWorks to design and simulate complex assemblies with multiple dynamic components.
      • Rapid Prototyping – 3D print, machine, or otherwise prototype new mechanisms for fast iteration and testing.
      • Rendering & Presentation – Create high-quality renders to support design decisions and investor/customer storytelling.
      • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Assembly (DFA) – Optimize parts and assemblies for cost-effective, scalable production.
      • Injection Molding Expertise – Design plastic parts for molding, work with tooling partners, and troubleshoot early runs.
      • Supplier Collaboration – Engage directly with manufacturers and vendors to source components, review tolerances, and manage timelines.
      • Cross-Disciplinary Integration – Work closely with electrical, software, and AI engineers to make sure everything fits, functions, and scales.

      What We're Looking For:

      • 2-5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally for a shipped consumer product.
      • Strong CAD skills (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or equivalent) with experience designing complex, dynamic assemblies.
      • Hands-on prototyping experience using 3D printing, CNC, laser cutting, and traditional shop tools.
      • Rendering skills (KeyShot, Blender, or built-in CAD tools) to communicate ideas visually.
      • Deep understanding of DFM/DFA, GD&T, and part optimization for injection molding, sheet metal, and machining.
      • Direct experience working with manufacturers—domestic or overseas—including design reviews, RFQs, and sample iteration.
      • Self-starter mindset with the ability to take projects from zero to launch in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
      • Bonus: Experience with kitchen appliances, consumer robotics, or electromechanical products.

      Why Join Us?

      • Build Something Revolutionary – Shape a product that redefines home cooking and intelligent automation.
      • High Ownership – Take full control of the mechanical system and see your work come to life.
      • Equity & Compensation – Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and full benefits.
      • First 5 Employees – Help shape culture, design process, and product direction from the ground up.
      • Mission-Driven Team – We care deeply about the tech and the people we build it with.
  • About the company
