What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop optimization models and algorithms for last mile delivery operations
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to build and deploy solutions for business needs
- Oversee the development of mathematical techniques for strategic supply chain initiatives
- Drive the deployment of models/algorithms/tools to solve optimization problems
- Contribute to the design and operation of Target’s Global Supply Chain

What is Required (Qualifications):
- PhD or MS in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in building optimization models and algorithms at scale
- Significant expertise in Optimization Theory and methods
- Proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, or Kotlin programming
- Experience in deploying machine learning models in a commercial setting

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Expertise in Heuristics/Metaheuristics methods
- Experience with large event-driven distributed systems and multi-threaded applications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for global collaboration
- Continuous learner mentality in supply chain optimization and AI
