OTDI | Governance and Risk ManagementOhio State’s Digital Security and Trust team is responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive cybersecurity program that enables and supports the management of information security risk for Ohio State’s information systems and assets and protects the university from cyber threats. The Digital Security and Trust team looks for individuals who value partnership, trust, innovation and respect. We hold one another accountable for high, ethical and competent performance. Our strategic goals include partnering with the university community to facilitate an information risk aware culture, support university leaders to actively own their information security risks, and to introduce new capabilities; providing solutions which offer foundational information security capabilities, ease of use, and align to current and future university needs; ensuring timely incident and emerging threat response activities, and coordination between stakeholders.
Digital Security and Trust’s Disaster Recovery Program provides the university with the ability to protect Ohio State’s IT services and institutional data from the effects of a disaster. It allows the university to maintain, resume or restore mission-critical functions and operations following a disruption of IT services. When done well, resiliency and disaster recovery reduce the loss of data, revenue, and reputation.
Leads Digital Security and Trust’s Disaster Recovery (DR) Program by driving the development and implementation of policies, standards, procedures and tools to provide for an efficient and effective disaster recovery program; Represent DR program objectives and activities to university stakeholder groups, external partners, and constituents; Develop and administer DR training to affected staff; Build relationships while consulting and interacting with other institutions and other entities outside of the university to understand best practices, compliance concerns, and regulation interpretation; Provide assurance mechanisms for DR plans and architectures; Work with partners to provide solutions for known issues or concerns; Lead members of the DR program team by providing coaching and feedback, succession planning, and direction.
Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. At least 8 years of general IT experience with demonstrated experience in disaster recovery. Ability to organize and prioritize to meet established deadlines, requiring multitasking in a fast-paced environment, with outstanding attention to details; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Knowledge of disaster recovery best practices; Excellent problem solving/analytical skills as well as knowledge of analytical tools and process automation, best practice approach toward technology efficiency/effectiveness; Ability to establish and communicate security concepts, risk, and controls to a wide range of audiences with varying levels of technical and security experiences; Demonstrated ability to lead teams, train and develop staff.
Education/Experience Desired:
CRISC, CISSP, GIAC or similar certification. 12 years IT experience preferred.
Additional Information:
The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is 107,000 – 125,000.
This position is mapped to Information security and risk management specialized level 5.
