      What will you be doing:

      The Lead UX Designer is responsible for creating satisfying and compelling experiences for the users or the organization's digital products and services, often by drawing on results from user research and workflow analysis. The incumbent is responsible for researching and analyzing user needs and sentiment, creating and testing service design blueprints, and working with Product Managers and other Designers to turn insights into actual product features. The Lead UX designer will lead teams throughout the design process to oversee and identify end users' needs and continuously improve the product accordingly, even after it's been developed and launched. The lead UX Designer will independently own an entire design workstream for a project and may work on multiple projects simultaneously.

      • Mentor/direct design teams members and will lead the design workstream for multiple projects/programs.
      • Facilitates and drives the stages of the innovation design process. Helps to establish and evolve the product from concept to proof of concept for user testing
      • Leads the UX research, design, and testing for new experiences and improvements of existing experiences
      • Advocates for design solutions, highlighting inputs that influenced the decisions including business and user goals, demographic and usage data, and research findings
      • Communicates the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, personas, mockups, and/or high fidelity prototypes
      • Delivers work that’s not only user-friendly, aesthetically engaging, but which also produces results
      • Assesses and optimizes the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in user research and assessing performance metrics
      • Confidently presents design concepts, clearly articulates ideas, and facilitates brainstorming sessions with leaders, developers, and stakeholders
      • Conducts or leads independent research and competitive analysis on multiple aspects of products and experiences from UX, product and strategy perspective
      • Leads analysis of user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs and online experiments (A/B testing)
      • Works with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers and other UXRs to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, while also incorporating complex technical and business requirements
      • Designs, executes, and/or oversees user research using qualitative and quantitative methods, including ethnographic studies, primary interviews, generative design research, usability studies, A/B testing
      • Masters planning, conducting and synthesizing ethnographic studies and primary interviews with user/customers and major stakeholders

      Experience Requirements:

      • Eight (8)+ years of experience in UI/UX design, concept development, building and shipping products (web, mobile apps, responsive designs), building and maintaining design systems, gained from working in an innovation agency, startup, tech company or large organization
      • One (1)+ years of experience in design leadership experience and leading product/design teams
      • Design research - Market trend analysis, primary interviews, ethnography studies, secondary research, competitor analysis, UI/UX tear downs, card sorting, surveys
      • Usability and product testing - Unmoderated usability testing, heuristic analysis, tree testing, A/B studies, use of analysis tools (e.g. hotjar, adobe analytics, userzoom)
      • Research synthesis - Personas, archetypes, customer journeys, insight-opportunity frameworks, system maps, stories, and scenarios

      Educational Requirements:

      Bachelor’s degree in Design, Research, Psychology, Computer Programming, or related field.

      Master’s degree in a design, psychology, or research field. (preferred)
