      Position Overview:

      The Total Rewards Leave Partner is responsible for the management and coordination of all the leave of absence programs offered by Digi-Key Electronics. This position will serve as a subject matter expert on an assigned areas of responsibility inclusive of, but not limited to, leave of absence, ADAAA, coordination of benefits for Life, AD&D, Disability, and Wellness plans. The Leave Partner will be a resource for team members providing guidance and assistance to all locations in the United States. Ensures adherence to policies, procedures as well as any governing regulatory requirements.

      This role is responsible for managing complex or challenging leave and return to work cases while providing compliant recommendations for resolution and partnering with Employee Relations or HR leadership as needed. The Leave Partner will compile and track reporting metrics and analytics for all leave cases, create policies and procedures that reflect industry best practices and are compliant. They will also assists with the creation of educational material, communications and training manuals for team members, leaders and other Total Rewards colleagues. Due to the nature of this position, the incumbent must be a service-oriented professional with strong written and oral communication skills, critical thinking and be skillful at problem solving. Demonstrated organizational, analytical and planning skills; adaptable to rapidly changing organizational needs is required. Participate and contribute to the Total Rewards Team.

      This role is based in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, or Fargo, North Dakota, and will require a minimum of three days per week in the office and be available for projects in the office as needed. Travel is required, at times, domestically.

      Responsibilities:

      • Serve as vendor manager for Life, AD&D, Disability, ADA and Leave Administration Contracts.

      • A proactive approach to ensure vendor accountability to SLA’s in place.

      • Monitor third-party vendors' administration of al leaves of absence, ADAA/CA FEHA, and Workers’ Compensation

      • Proficient knowledge of state and federal laws related to leaves such as FMLA, MPLA, PWFA, ADA, and MN Paid Family and MN Paid Parental Leave

      • Maintain solid working knowledge and proficient understanding and application of regulations, policies, and procedures, including eligibility requirements, for federal, state, and company-provided leaves of absence

      • Responsible and accountable for protecting personal health information maintaining a high level of confidentiality and abiding by HIPAA rules and regulations

      • Work with the employee, supervisor, and third-party vendor for the end-to-end ADAAA/CA FEHA interactive process, including understanding and explaining reasonable accommodation, undue hardship, and the reassignment process

      • Educate team members on leave processes and procedures; ensures compliance with all State and Federal laws as it relates to FMLA, ADA, Short-term and Long-term Disability and other leave and accommodation requirements.

      • Work collaboratively with benefits team, payroll and other functional areas to ensure program administration is consistent and compliant

      • Conduct investigations of alleged fraudulent activity for all leave programs

      Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience preferred

      • 3-5 years of leave administration experience

      • 2-3 years of experience in customer service

      • 2-3 years of experience in vendor performance management

      • Technical proficiency in PHI, HIPAA, ERISA, and benefit compliance requirements

      • Experience with ADA Accommodations and the Interactive Process

      • Experience in data processing, document management and customer engagement

      • Experience in working with HRIS systems and/or Workday application preferred

      • SHRM-CP®, SHRM-SCP®, PHR® or SPHR® Certification preferred

      Physical Requirements:

      • Work is primarily performed at a desk and/or in an office environment for 3/4 of the day and up.

      • The office noise level in the work environment is typically, moderate.

      • Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse, and screen.

      • Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body.
