The Lecturer position would help accommodate student demand. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) offers both a major in American Sign Language (ASL) and Interpretation and a minor in ASL Studies. Enrollment figures indicate ASL courses are in great demand. Often, ASL courses not only meet capacity but have students waitlisted.
