      Description:

      The Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, and the Division of Dermatology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre are inviting applications for the position of Academic Dermatologist. This full-time appointment will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto with a position description of Clinician Teacher at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor. It is expected that the position will be approximately 75% clinical and 25% related to teaching, innovation, and administrative duties. Effective start date will be July 1 2024, or a mutually agreeable date.

      Applicants must hold an M.D. and FRCPC qualifications (or equivalent specialist designation) with certification in Dermatology, and have or be eligible for licensure to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

      The successful candidate should be committed to sustained excellence in teaching and scholarly contributions to teaching and education. They will have, or intend to, completed formal advanced training through completion of a Master’s in Adult Education, the Master Teacher Program or equivalent. In addition, the successful applicant must have excellent communication skills and have demonstrated capacity and aptitude for effective interdisciplinary clinical and scholarly team collaboration and interactions. The successful candidate should have a career focused on providing outstanding outpatient clinical care for dermatology patients, with training and clinical expertise in general dermatology – including skin cancer, inflammatory skin diseases (psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, etc.), dermatologic surgery, and complex medical dermatology. The successful candidate should also demonstrate a broad teaching experience as measured by a strong track record of excellence in medical student and resident education, awards, leadership as a clinical educator, and other relevant experience.

      The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association through which billings and benefits will be administered. The candidate will also be able to participate in the department’s group medical, dental, and life insurance benefit plans.

      Salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Remuneration will be based on the candidate’s specific criteria, including experience, skills, education, and training.
