      One Temporary (Up to 11-months) Full Time Position.

      Looking for a one-of-a-kind chance to become part of a top-tier company as a Legal Assistant? Your search ends here! Capital Power Corporation is in need of an extremely organized and meticulous individual to join our legal team in Edmonton.

      You will contribute to our team by:

      • Providing administrative support for all legal staff, including processing legal invoices and expense claims, managing calendars, performing data input and simple Excel analysis, and drafting letters in response to inquiries.

      • Supporting the legal team in organizing and managing its SharePoint and intranet sites.

      • Assisting with event planning and teamworking events for the legal team.

      • Planning and scheduling monthly/bi-weekly legal teams meetings.

      • Arranging any necessary training on technology tools/apps for the legal team.

      • Managing payment of membership fees and subscriptions.

      • Identifying, improving and/or eliminating any inefficient legal/administrative processes.

      • Ensuring timely completion of required HSE, IT, and other company training.

      • Fostering positive working relationships with other groups within the company.

      • Providing support for other administrative/document management roles within legal.

      What you will bring to the role:

      Education:

      • Completed Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration.

      • Education equivalency may be considered.

      Experience & Technical Skills:

      • 2 to 5-years administration experience.

      • Previous administration experience in a legal setting preferred.

      • Advanced Microsoft Office.

      • Experience with Oracle.

      • Experience with Workday.

      Working Conditions:

      • Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with possible very minimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.

      • Requires moving/lifting of up to 10 lbs.

      Additional Details:

      In order to be considered for this role you must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

      The successful candidate for this position will undergo an education verification, reference checks and criminal record check.
