The Conair Summer Internship Program is designed to provide exceptional students interested in a career in law or business with a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the diverse legal and business operations at Conair. Those selected will gain invaluable work experience through challenging project assignments and on the job learning experiences.

As a Legal Intern at Conair, your responsibilities would involve a variety of tasks related to supporting the legal team in navigating the legal aspects of the business. Here are some common responsibilities that may be encountered during your internship:

1. Legal Research:

· Conduct legal research on various issues related to consumer product and corporate laws, regulations, and industry standards.

· Summarize and present findings to the legal team, helping them stay informed about relevant legal developments.

2. Contract Review and Drafting:

· Assist in reviewing and drafting contracts, including vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements, distribution agreements, and contracts with customers.

· Work closely with the business units to ensure contracts serve their needs while complying with legal requirements and protecting the company's interests.

3. Compliance Assistance:

· Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting consumer products and companies to ensure that Conair remains in compliance.

· Assist in developing and maintaining compliance programs to mitigate legal risks associated with product development, marketing, and distribution.

4. Intellectual Property Support:

· Assist in managing the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks and patents.

5. Litigation Support:

· Assist in the review and preparation of legal documents for litigation matters, including discovery requests and responses.

· Review and organize documents related to legal proceedings.

6. Contract Management:

· Help maintain an organized system for storing and managing contracts.

· Track contract expiration dates and renewal requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.

7. Policy Development:

· Collaborate with the legal team to develop and update internal policies and trainings to ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation.

8. Communication and Coordination:

· Communicate with internal departments to gather information and provide legal support.

· Coordinate with external legal counsel as needed.

9. Administrative Support:

· Provide administrative support to the legal team, including organizing files, maintaining legal databases, and managing correspondence.

Legal interns often get exposure to various aspects of the legal field, providing valuable hands-on experience and insights into the legal challenges faced by consumer product companies.

To Qualify/Apply:

o You must be a current college student entering your junior or senior year in the fall of 2024, or an admitted or first year law student entering your first or second year of law school in the fall of 2024.

o Internships start in early June and run for 10 weeks.

o You must be in excellent academic standing.

o You must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

o You must be proficient with MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint

o We currently operate on a hybrid schedule; Interns must be willing to come into the office 3 days/week. Conair does not provide housing for summer interns.

o All internship positions are paid $20/hour and based out of our Stamford, CT office. Conair provides scheduled shuttle service to and from the Stamford Metro North railroad station.
