      Job summary

      We are currently recruiting a Band 2 Leisure Facilitator, to be part of our Hospital Ward Team in the Inpatient Unit at Tenbury Community Hospital working 20 hours per week. The candidate will support patients with activities which are both stimulating and diverting.

      Tenbury Community Hospital plays a critical role in the delivery of local NHS services, providing more care and treatment closer to peoples homes. Emphasis is to reduce length of stay whilst ensuring excellent care which is safe, effective, personalised and compassionate and to the standards you would expect for your family and friends.

      Main duties of the job

      The main duties of a leisure facilitator are:

      • Support patients with activities that are both stimulating and diverting, recognising the unique needs of each patient as an individual.
      • Incorporating some aspects of rehabilitation, under the direct guidance of the qualified staff.
      • Offer one to one, or group activities which stimulate or relax the patients.
      • Provide patients with psychological, sociological and spiritual support by enabling them to pursue hobbies or leisure activities which are valuable or necessary to them.
