      Overview

      Arkane Austin is looking for its next Level Designer that will be in charge of translating game design into playable and engaging maps and missions. In addition to talent and passion we want a designer who is good at solving problems, collaborative and loves the kind of games that we make.

      The preferred location for this role is Austin, TX. Will consider remote

      Responsibilities

      • Produce and maintain level design documentation, including mission intentions and high-level concepts
      • Create level blockouts in collaboration with architects and environment artists
      • Implement gameplay scenarios in levels using specialized tools (world editor, scripting systems)
      • Collaborate with all development disciplines to drive a mission through the iterative process, from inception to final
      • Analyze and fix level design bugs in a timely manner

      Qualifications

      • Creative and great sense for what makes a level engaging
      • Strong problem solving ability and technical know-how
      • Ability to take a task and run with it, working with production and other disciplines to execute on a vision
      • Good time management skills and actively collaborative attitude
      • Experience with a AAA game engine and its scripting system (UE4, CRYENGINE, idTech, etc.)
      • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
      • Must submit work samples with online application

      Salary Range

      Level Designer - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $55,000 - $140,000 per year.

      ZeniMax has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
