Job Description
- Req#: 24181
- Provides circulation services, including cash handling.
- Answer directional questions or redirects customers when appropriate.
- Provide technical assistance, such as photocopying, reserving computers, and printing and scanning.
- Complete material handling tasks such as emptying the drop box, packing and unpacking tranship boxes, sorting materials onto trucks, retrieving materials, and AV problems.
- Perform routines related to holds.
- Provide basic customer assistance, including promotion of programs and services, and assistance with self-service.
- Provide telephone assistance to customers.
- Responsible for contributing to a positive and respectful workplace.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Secondary school graduation.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills are essential in dealing with the staff and public.
- Effective written and oral skills in English are essential.
- Demonstrated keyboarding ability.
- Computer skills are required in relevant software
- Knowledge of library electronic resources.
- Ability to identify process improvements and efficiencies, and participate in implementation.
- Lifting is involved.
- Hours of work staff to include evenings and Saturdays.
- Sunday work may be required.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a bargaining unit position. CUPE Local 1989 members will be given consideration for this vacancy, as per the collective agreement, followed by all other employees.

Hourly Rate/Salary: $25.23 - $30.62 (Based on Salary Grade P3 $45,930 - $55,712)
Hours of Work: 20 up to 48 hours biweekly for PT; 35 hours per week for FT
Work Location: Various Locations
