- Provide prompt and professional online reference service to college and university students
- Manage live chat reference inquiries and coordinate follow-up with staff at the patron's institution
- Work independently to solve problems and cover assigned hours each week
- Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and sound professional judgment in a fast-paced online environment
- Utilize academic databases and assist users in effective research techniques

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Availability after 5 p.m. EST with ability to commit to a set evening and weekend schedule
- ALA-accredited Master's degree with significant work experience providing online reference service
- Ability to process written policies and instructions from various libraries and assist patrons effectively
- Proficiency in academic databases and research writing/citation formats
- Advanced emotional self-regulation and online communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 5 years of community college library work experience with responsibility for general reference and library instruction
- Experience with live screensharing and creating video screen recordings for instructional purposes
- Ability to troubleshoot remote connection and login issues for academic library research databases
