Provide linguistic expertise in phonetics, phonology, lexicography, dialectology, and NLP.

Design and conduct experiments for evaluating transcription quality.

Develop manual and automated processes for multiple concurrent projects, ensuring high-quality label alignments, prosodic classification, POS identification, and user feedback.

Create and refine text normalization and inverse text normalization processes.

Manage lexical and phrasal transcriptions and related metadata.

Analyze system metrics such as user opinion, lexicon transcription coverage, and POS tagger performance to remedy pain points.

Strong understanding of phonetics and phonology.

Proficiency with transcription and annotation systems such as SAMPA, IPA, and ToBI.

Requires strong English language skills, with a focus on a European dialect.

Familiarity with NLP concepts and techniques.

Programming skills (e.g., Python, R, SQL) are a plus.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Data visualization skills using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.

Experience with project management methodologies and tools.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in linguistics, language technologies, computational linguistics, speech science, or a related field.

Relevant certifications in linguistics or language technology are a plus.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.

Title: Linguist II
Location: Onsite in nationwide office locations (Seattle, WA, Redmond, WA, Austin, TX, Houston, TX, New York, NY, Baltimore, MD, Burlingame, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, Menlo Park, CA, San Diego, CA,San Francisco, CA)
Duration: 6 months + extensions to 24 months
Compensation: $30.00 - $43.00/hr (Competitive Hourly)
