Linux System Administrator

Position Summary

Our ideal candidate would be someone who can immediately impact the team by owning application solutions. This includes:
● Excellent knowledge of Linux production environments, configuration of Linux OS, open source tools, etc
● Designing technical solutions
● Strong experience managing and maintaining production Linux servers in an enterprise environment
● Acting as a full team member, including design and code reviews, participating in Agile rituals, etc

Knowledge and Skills

● At least 5 years of professional experience

● Software analysis and design experience

● Experience writing and debugging server side scripts written in php, perl, or other dynamically typed languages

● Experience writing and debugging shell scripts for operational tasks

● Experience reviewing logs of various services to troubleshoot issues

● Experience using open source tools to analyze server resource usage

● Strong technical skills and attention to detail, with an excellent knowledge of Linux, Apache MySQL, and PHP

● Excellent experience with debugging and performance optimization of other people's code

● Experience administering HAProxy, Apache web server, FTP, OpenSSH, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other open source database

● Excellent experience with open source database replication using PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB

● Experience with EDI and ETL processes

● Strong knowledge of git version control system

● Excellent debugging and analytical skills

● Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice to Have:

● Experience maintaining production-level applications

● Knowledge of Agile Development Methodologies

● Knowledge in Web service design and development

● Strong knowledge and experience with implementation of RESTful API integrations into existing applications

● Experience with Web-based development including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, Perl, PHP, etc

● Experience building PHP applications for the web using both modern technologies such as Laravel and legacy methods such as Apache CGI

● Experience with testing automation and CI/CD processes

● Experience administering cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc.)
