What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide high-level litigation support to the Staff Counsel operations, including preparation of pleadings and litigation files
- Maintain and organize litigation-related documents, reports, and presentations
- Assist in managing calendars for litigation and business-related deadlines, including court filings and depositions
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal contacts and company insureds
- Perform customer service functions as required and assist in implementing litigation services
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma; Associate's degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in a law firm or law department
- Familiarity with basic legal terminology
- Experience in Workers Compensation in NYC required; California experience preferred
- Highly organized with strong teamwork skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with litigation-related software for billing and filing needs
- Ability to create and edit professional documents and presentations
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across teams
- Previous experience in a customer service role
- Knowledge of the specialty insurance market
