Job Description

- Serve as a tool room custodian, or alternate custodian of one or more tool rooms by receiving, storing, and issuing tools and equipment used by shop personnel of specifically assigned repair shop stations or work areas
- Interpret and convert shop terminology to standard nomenclature to identify and locate items
- Prepare, maintain, and file required documentation
- Verify and inventory all items and documentation received
- Record receipts and issues to stock record cards, assigns location, etc.
- Follow-up to ensure return of nonexpendable items
- Inspect and verify returned items for serviceability and prepare all appropriate documentation, such as repair orders, property records, and LTDD documentation
- Initiate and oversee regular and unscheduled accountability of inventories, to include 100% inspections of all property items
- Enforce proper custodial responsibility of all equipment to all team members
- Requisition tools and equipment through the use of guides, manuals, and catalogs, and follow-up with central supply activity for items not received
- Conduct periodic and special inventories of tool rooms by taking physical count of items on hand and entering on appropriate documentation
- Oversee annual inventory to ensure all suspense dates are met
- Schedule inventory of toolboxes with appropriate supervisors as required
- Search for misplaced items, recount imbalances, and prepare all adjustments
- Coordinate all corresponding property actions for items requiring further disposition.
- Relocate stock to consolidate like items, make room for new items, and maximize efficient utilization of available space
- Prepare documentation for turn in of excess items, making determination as to whether damaged tools and equipment are economically repairable or whether items should be salvaged
- Schedule and coordinate transportation for turn-in of items to DRMO and General Supply per supply chain and senior management directive
- Prepare and maintain documentation for repair of non-capital, measuring tools, and electrical power tools, monitoring the dates of calibration and warranty and corresponding with appropriate parties for follow-up actions
- Schedules and controls equipment for calibration and ensures items with voided calibration are removed from the working inventory
- Maintain required files peculiar to operation of assigned tool room
- Initiate and maintain records for changes/corrections to hand receipts, property book, etc. due to
- turn-ins, receipts, keypunch errors, transfers, etc.
- Plan and coordinate with site management the storage, transport, and procurement of all equipment and supplies required for execution at the site
- Abide by and adhere to all requirements in General Order #1 in conformity with US military standards and practices
- Aid in the preparation of and authoring of CDRL’s, reports, standard operating procedures, and other required documentation as requested by the client and senior management
- Follow all VGS standard policies and practices
- Move materials and equipment to work locations and executes the work
- Complete records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities
- Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment and ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times by all employees
- Promote teamwork and actively participate in quality improvement process
- Promote safety awareness and comply with all applicable safety procedures and regulations, performs other duties and activities as directed
- Maintain technical library and record-keeping which documents all procedures necessary to accomplish assigned responsibility
- Utilize MAXIMO or similar client-owned computerized maintenance management system as system of record for all maintenance-related actions
- Transport and properly dispose all hazardous materials to HAZMAT collection point
- Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date.
- Must maintain a valid passport from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date
- Must satisfy and maintain CENTCOM MOD-17 medical requirements to include COVID-9 vaccinations
- Must be able to gain and maintain authorized entry onto US military installations.

- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistic, warehousing, or supply chain operations, with preference towards an inventory or tool room environment.
- Experience inspecting, inventorying, and accounting for maintenance items and tooling.
- Education: A high school diploma or GED
- Valid drivers’ license from home of record.
- Must provide copies of training certificates
- Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards for electrical and mechanical trades, related safety practices, and skill required for the installation, maintenance, and repair of power generator systems and equipment
- Previous experience with US Army property or logistics programs would be an advantage.
- MAXIMO experience or other digital CMMS software experience would be an advantage.
- Prior LOGCAP experience preferred
- Must have oral and written communication skills sufficient to interact with customers and produce verbal and written reports for upper management and to brief upper management on equipment status.
- Ability to read, comprehend/understand, and apply information and directives contained in manufacturer equipment manuals, facility documentation, client and installation policy and directives, standard operating and emergency response procedures, material safety data sheets, etc.
- Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling and working outdoors. Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts assemblies and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum.
- Duties will involve work in the outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including but not limited to heavy rain, high humidity, and rapid temperature or weather changes.
