      About the Job:

      The position of Logistics Coordinator will have primary responsibility for facilitating accurate and timely movement of customer’s shipments, FCL and LCL and air from origin to destination in compliance with company standards and government agencies such as FMC, CFR, IACSSP, and Customs and Border Protection. In addition, this position will ensure the accuracy and completeness of quotes, services, documentation, and billing for services. This position will establish and maintain new business opportunities from both existing and new customer sources and cross-train to cover the workload of other staff members in the department.

      Work Schedule:

      • Monday through Friday
      • Shift Hours: 8.00 am to 5:00 pm


      In This Role, You Will:

      • Serve the customer needs and interact with all contacts, in a customer-focused fashion at all times.
      • Provide superior customer service to all customers, both internal and external.
      • Send work orders to the motor carrier trucking company regarding services needs for pickup/delivery of cargo to/from customers, port, and other carrier locations. Follow up to ensure pickup and delivery.
      • Assure that complete and accurate files for documentation and compliance purposes are maintained, as well as for customer visibility in our online TracNet website.
      • Provides timely shipment status updates to customer.
      • Provides rate quotes for internal and external customers.
      • Traces shipments daily using a variety of reference materials and sources.
      • Assures that all shipments are accurately documented and signed for, research cargo status, container release, and location status via phone and e-mail.
      • Prepares and completes appropriate manifest, B/L and other associated paperwork for each delivery or shipment. Forward appropriate documents to assist CFS coordinator, and other departments for processing.
      • Troubleshoots transportation issues to the customer’s satisfaction or escalates complex problems to the supervisor
      • Creates customer reports, including formatting, auditing, and distribution.
      • Communicates with Branch Manager or Department Supervisor/Manager regarding issues with inbound and/or outbound international transportation issues.
      • Communicates with other departments and ensures that required information is exchanged timely and accurately.
      • Works as a team member on other department processes and duties as assigned.
      • ALL OTHER DUTIES AND PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED.

      Required:

      • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Employee should have:
        • Knowledge of ocean and air freight industry information
        • Knowledge of carrier selection (ocean, air and domestic)
        • Basic knowledge to identify specialized cargo (hazardous, OOG, overweight)
        • An understanding of INCO terms
        • An understanding of NVOCC terminology and methods
        • Knowledge of container specifications
        • An understanding of letters of credit and other banking documents
        • Knowledge of legalization requirements
        • An understanding of US Department of Commerce and State Department export licenses
        • Knowledge of government agency requirements
        • Basic knowledge of World Geography
      • Must possess excellent business, negotiation, and leadership abilities with excellent oral and written communication skills. Employee must have a basic user knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
      • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers and international business partners using both written and verbal forms of communication.
      • From conversations, written requests, and multi sourced information, individual coordinates and services customer account through written correspondence, phone, e-mail, and fax. Ability to respond to urgent requests and different communication styles in order to satisfy internal and external customer alike. Must be able to push for resolution while maintaining positive relationships. Good interpersonal communication skills–not only for customer service but also interoffice/department interactions
