The Licensed Practical Nurse Bridge (LPN-B) candidate works within the LPN scope of practice while pursuing RN degree and licensure. The LPN-B has an acceptance letter to enroll in an accredited RN degree program (ADN or BSN) within six months of start of employment. The LPN Bridge candidate assists in collecting patient information, planning, and implementing patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The position is accountable for all delegated patient care based on established standards of nursing practice and hospital policies and procedures. The LPN-B only performs those procedures and processes that are within the scope of practice for an LPN-B.

Minimum Required Education: Successful completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program

Experience: One (1) or more years previous acute care experience

Applicant must be licensed to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and must hold a current BLS certification. Other certifications may be required based on patient population.
