      Job Summary

      The Machine Operator – Loader is responsible for using MHE (Counterbalance) for loading and unloading trucks along with movement of product to different areas of warehouse.

      Essential Job Functions *

      • Perform duties of loading and unloading trucks safely and in timely manner.
      • Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area.
      • Build and/or fix pallets and locate properly to loading dock, readying for shipping.
      • Wrapping and weighing pallets, adding shipping labels.
      • Perform RF functions and transactions for picking, relocations, consolidations, etc.
      • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards.
      • Open bales, crates and other containers when needed.
      • Ensure equipment is maintained and operated in safe manner.
      • Inspect and report on any equipment malfunctions.
      • Adhere to health & safety policies and quality standards.
      • Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or processed through a computer. May also assist in counting of physical inventory.
      • Review and perform final sign off before loads are shipped to ensure accuracy and quality.
      • Load trucks to maximize cube used of trailer or container.
      • Willing to go into containers and trailers during colder months for loading and offloading.
      • Safely and accurately load and unload trucks in warehouse.
      • Check condition of trailers or container before loading or unloading to ensure they are safe.
      • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; Sweep, dust and mop.
      • Keep dock area organized, clean and safe.
      • Other task as assigned by management.

      Education & Experience

      • Secondary diploma or equivalent experience.
      • Valid MHE certification, specifically with counterbalance machine and 1-2 years’ experience operating

      Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

      • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
      • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances.
      • Experience in a large warehouse facility an asset.
