Job Description

The role is designed to bridge operational efficiency and mechanical aptitude in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Operations Lead, the MTO will operate, maintain, and make minor adjustments to high-speed production equipment to minimize downtime, maximize productivity, and ensure the highest quality standards are met. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with both production and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in equipment setup, changeovers, and adjustments to minimize downtime and ensure smooth workflows.
• Perform minor mechanical maintenance, including clearing jams, tightening fasteners, and replacing simple components such as belts or seals.
• Work closely with the Packaging & Bakery Lead to address production and equipment challenges.
• Operate, maintain, and make minor adjustments to high-speed production equipment.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of high-speed packaging machine operating OR 2+ years of machine operating in a GMP environment.
• 2+ years working in a fast-paced environment.
• 1+ years of troubleshooting experience.
• Technologically inclined to upload recipes into HMI systems.
• Ability to perform basic math (metric).
• Utilize various hand tools.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High-speed packaging operating experience is preferred but not required.
• GMP experience is also preferred but not required.
• Ability to troubleshoot to reduce the workload on the maintenance team.
• New machines are highly automated; training will be conducted by the Mississauga team for the opening of the new location.

Work Environment

GMP environment requiring hair nets, beard nets, hard hats, steel toes, and smocks. Ability to work in a normal bakery atmosphere with exposure to loud noises, strong smells, and dust/flour. Engagement with employees in the plant is required, but some work will be in an office environment. Required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Exposure to heat, cold, confined spaces, noise, greases, oils, and dust.

The pay range for this position is $57200.00 - $57200.00/yr.
