      An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Machinist to join us at the Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) facility in Derby.

      The EOS facility is 27,000m2, with ~550 employees, and operational for 20 hours a day, 365 days a year. As the only wholly owned Large Engine MRO facility, with capability to maintain all modern Trent engines, EOS is fundamental to the future success of Civil Aerospace.

      In this role, you’ll work on the latest machining platforms producing aero engine components and will also work cross-functionally with other teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within the area. You’ll be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements.

      What you will be doing:

      Working as part of the team, you will contribute to our business objectives of delivering Engines on time and to a high specification: You will:

      • Work to Rolls-Royce technical instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high-quality machining across a variety of different components and product families.
      • Operate a variety of Inspection equipment, both mechanical and electronic.
      • Interpret manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications.
      • Assess whether the quality of components produced meets required standards.
      • Work effectively as a team work to resolve quality issues and ensure the work is being completed to plan.
      • Have a scope to train and work across a variety of machines, both CNC and manual, including lathes, vertical borer, DMG 5 access milling machine, Dantip.

      Who we are looking for:

      • Completed an advanced level engineering apprenticeship* and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent.

      *To support your application please attach a copy of your certificates as proof of completing a recognised apprenticeship together with your CV.

      • Experience with aerospace components would be preferable.
      • Experience on DMG, Danobat, Mazak multi axis machine centers would be preferable.
      • Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
      • Pro-active, patient, capable of managing time effectively.
